On Monday, 28 July 2025, SAPS intercepted a Mercedes-Benz in Johannesburg carrying 30 unlicensed 9mm pistols in its boot. The firearms had been allegedly en path to the Western Cape.
Two suspects have been arrested, and the operation is a part of a broader SAPS effort, with 170 unlawful firearms seized over the previous week alone. 👏

Happily, police acquired a tip-off and managed to intercept the automobile earlier than the alleged mission might be carried out. Investigations are nonetheless ongoing.
